1. Prepare your style
Confirm the product, colour, length and quantity needed for your chosen style before opening every pack. Arrange clean tools and work in a clean, dry space.
2. Unpack gently
Open the packaging carefully. Loosen and separate small sections with your fingers instead of pulling or roughly combing the fibre.
3. Install with comfortable tension
Work in even sections and avoid unnecessary pulling at the scalp or hairline. If you are unsure about the technique, use a professional braider and share this guide with them.
4. Trim and finish
Trim loose ends carefully with scissors while keeping the blades away from natural hair and skin. Do not use direct heat, heated tools or very hot water unless the instructions for that specific product confirm it is suitable.
5. Style thoughtfully
Choose accessories that do not snag the fibre or add uncomfortable weight. Change the position of tight accessories rather than repeatedly stressing the same section.
6. Maintain the look
Handle the finished style gently, reduce friction while sleeping with a smooth scarf or bonnet, and tidy loose sections without pulling on the base of the style.
7. Washing and drying
Check the product instructions before washing an installed style. If the fibre becomes wet, avoid rubbing or wringing it and allow the style to dry completely in a well-ventilated space.
8. Remove carefully
Work slowly and make sure you can clearly distinguish the extension from natural hair before cutting or unfastening anything. Ask a braider for help if the attachment point is difficult to see.
